Nerds Need Love, Too
What do you do with yourself when you're always at or near the top of the class all the way through school and college? When it comes to using one's brains I do well, but that doesn't make me better or more important than anyone else. Have I turned you off yet? See what I mean? I'm not just playing modest. I want people to know that nerds like me have vacant spots and make personal flubs and need your love and understanding as much as anyone else. Like, I freeze at making friends. I have to think at least three times, "What shall I say?" before I can step up and introduce myself to someone.
So here I am, blogging away for better or worse. "It's another way to make friends," I've been told. I've been at it for over three months now, twice a week, and I find I really love the writing. I enjoy greatly the rebuttals I have had and it's so satisfying to know I have picked up by now a small group of interested followers. Still, I'd like make more. Or am I expecting too much too soon?
While I'm on this topic, let's do a recheck. Please tell me what you like or don't like about my blog. What kinds of writing do you like best? Would you like to know more about the writing life? Do you have a favorite post or posts or a preferred topic? Is there something else you'd like to see me write about? I've also had a yen to make this site more interactive. I keep hearing from media experts that people like to respond to what they are seeing and hearing, but my requests to date for more interaction on this blog have not found much encouragement. Is that because those of you who are regulars prefer the blog as it is?
Looking to be your favorite blogging nerd,
Margaret
